Add age and gender targeting and rename target lists

We added targeting by age and gender. Along with this update, we renamed "Target lists" to "Audience lists."

Changes

<Rename target lists>

  • We renamed the following services (the following descriptions use the new names):
    • "RetargetingListService" → "AudienceListService"
    • "AdGroupRetargetingListService" → "AdGroupAudienceListService"
    • "CampaignRetargetingListService" → "CampaignAudienceListService"
  • We changed terms such as "Target list" and "Retargeting list" to "Audience list." The changes by version are as follows.
    • v19
      Service names, column names, error messages, references, and more
    • v18 and earlier
      Error messages and references
  • In ReportDefinitionService, we added Enums with updated names and definitions for audience lists.
    The existing Enums are scheduled to be discontinued in a future version.
  • We updated entity types in AuditLogService as follows:
    • "NEGATIVE_CAMPAIGN_USER_LIST" → "NEGATIVE_CAMPAIGN_AUDIENCE_LIST"
    • "NEGATIVE_AD_GROUP_USER_LIST" → "NEGATIVE_AD_GROUP_AUDIENCE_LIST"
    • "AD_GROUP_USER_LIST" → "AD_GROUP_AUDIENCE_LIST"
    • "TARGET_LIST" → "AUDIENCE_LIST"

<Age and gender targeting>

*This feature is available for some users. If the feature is not available, AudienceListService/getDemographic returns an empty response. Detailed eligibility criteria are not disclosed.
*This feature will be available after the release of "Search Ads: Add an age and gender targeting feature and rename target lists," announced separately.

  • AudienceListService/getDemographic
    • You can select audience lists (previously target lists) by age and gender.
  • AdGroupAudienceListService/get, add, set
    • We added a flag under criterionUserList to indicate whether the audience list (previously target list) is age- or gender-based.
  • CampaignAudienceListService/add
    • If you try to add age- or gender-based audience lists (previously target lists), "Invalid value" is returned.
  • ReportDefinitionService/get, add, remove, getReportFields
    • When reportType is "CAMPAIGN_AUDIENCE_LIST" or "ADGROUP_AUDIENCE_LIST," you can specify "Target audience" (field name: TARGET_ALL) in field.
    • When reportType is "CAMPAIGN_ASSET," you can specify "Business name" (field name: BUSINESS_NAME) in field.
    • When reportType is "ASSET_COMBINATIONS," you can specify "Delivered Business name" (field name: DELIVERED_BUSINESS_NAME) in field.

Business name asset added to ad display assets and account association supported

We added a new "Business name asset" to ad display assets and now support account-level association.
