Apply API Use

The application procedure for the LY Ads API is as follows.

Note

  • If you use LY Ads through an application provided by a company other than LY Corporation, such as an "Ad Management Tool," you do not need to apply for the LY Ads API.
    When using an ad management tool, please authorize the application to access your account.

To apply for the LY Ads API, you must log in to the Campaign Management Tool with a Business ID that has administrator privileges for the root MCC. If you are new to LY Ads, please complete your application for LY Ads using the following form in Japanese.

LY Ads Application Form

After completing your application for LY Ads, please proceed with the LY Ads API application by following the steps below.

1. On the "Select Base Account" screen of the Campaign Management Tool, select the root MCC.
2. Click "Tools" at the top right of the screen and select "Apply for LY Ads API."
3. Enter the required information as instructed on the screen.
4. Agree to the LY Ads API Terms of Use.

This completes your application for the LY Ads API.

Note

If your Business ID does not have administrator privileges for the root MCC, please consider one of the following options:

• Apply using a Business ID that has administrator privileges for the root MCC.
• Grant administrator privileges for the root MCC to your own Business ID.

For details on how to grant administrator privileges for the root MCC, please refer to "What is the root MCC?"
If you log in with a Business ID that does not have administrator privileges for the root MCC, the "Apply for LY Ads API" menu will not be displayed.

Application Completed

After your application is complete and the LY Ads API becomes available, an email titled "[LY Ads API] Registration Completed" will be sent to the email address associated with your Business ID. The email will notify you that administrator privileges have been granted for managing your application in the API Management Tool.

Once your application registration is complete, please proceed to the steps for Add Application.

Granting Permissions in the API Management Tool

If a user other than the applicant will manage the API application, you can invite that user and grant administrator privileges through the "Business Tool Access Manager."
If you want to invite a new user, refer to "Invite members to a group" in "About the Business Tool Access Manager."
To change permissions for an invited user, refer to "Set member permissions" in the same page.
Available operations in the API Management Tool vary depending on the permissions granted when inviting a user.

* Administrator privileges: Can register and update applications.
* User privileges: Can only view application information.

Note

  • If your account has previously been flagged for violating LY Ads guidelines, you will not be able to use the LY Ads API.

  • If your company has already applied for the LY Ads API, "Currently contracted" will be displayed.

  • If you wish to apply using a different Business ID, you must first cancel the contract associated with your current Business ID.
