Summary
To expand the range of ad expressions in Display Ads, we support the addition of emojis in the ad titles and the item name of the Dynamic Ads for Display. In addition, we have added symbols available in ads, relaxed the rules for symbol use, and added character codes in the import and export features of the Campaign Editor.
These changes let you improve the effectiveness of advertising by increasing the variety of expressions in ads.

You can add emojis in the titles of Display Ads.

The use of emojis is not available for the "Topics PR" package offered in Display Ads (Guaranteed).
Additional symbols available and relaxation of symbol usage rules
(1) Added available symbols in the title, description, and advertiser indication of Display Ads.

(2) The rules for symbol usage are changed as follows.
(Before)
・You can use the same type of symbol (*1) in a combined total of up to two instances across the title and description.
・Unrestricted use of punctuation marks, commas and dots.
(After)
・You can use the same type of symbol (*1) up to two times each in the title and description (only hyphens and equals (*2) can be used up to three times each in the title and description).
・Unrestricted use of punctuation marks, commas and dots.

*2: "Hyphen/equal" is a newly added symbol type. The symbols included in the symbol type "Hyphen" and the double-byte equal (=) and double-byte and single-byte minus (-, -) in the symbol type "Operator symbol" are moved to the newly added "Hyphen/equal" (the symbol type "Hyphen" is discontinued).
■Comments
The use of "〈〉(double-byte)" and "〔〕 (double-byte)" are not available for the "Topics PR" package offered in Display Ad (Guaranteed).
Other changes
- The import and export features of the Campaign Editor now support the character codes UTF-8 and UTF-16.
- We have added the following cautions to the "Advertiser indication" in the Ad Insertion Rules. *Some ad places are not subject to the guarantee.
There is no change to the notation "Advertiser Indication (Required) Displaying Ad: Static."
Notes
Due to these changes, note the following points when using newly added emojis and symbols.
- To output a text file containing the target emojis and symbols, specify "UTF-8" or "UTF-16" for the character encoding.
- Ads containing the target emojis and symbols may not be shown correctly depending on the environment in which the ad is placed.
