Summary

We have implemented the following bid strategies and bidding options for Display Ads (Auction).

Bid strategy "Maximize viewable impressions" (beta version)

A new bid strategy "Maximize Viewable Impressions" became available as a beta version in the campaign goal "Brand awareness."

Expanding the use of the bidding option "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" (beta version)

When creating or modifying a campaign, you can select "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" as the bidding option for certain combinations of campaign goals and bid strategies. This feature became available as a beta version.

*This feature is in the beta version, and its behavior may not be stable. If you do not get any results after using the feature, adjust the operation such as stopping using it.

Add "Bidding option" column

With the expansion of the use of the bidding option "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" (beta version), the "Bidding option" became available as a column on various list views of the Campaign Management Tool.
*This isn't available in the column in the Campaign Editor.

Change in bid strategy notation

We have changed the notation of bid strategies that appear in the Campaign Management Tool and Campaign Editor as follows. There is no change in the bid strategy feature.

Impact on Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Display Ads API

We only support the bid strategy "Maximize viewable impressions" (beta version) in the Display Ads API.

  • Changes:
    You can specify "MAXIMIZE_VIEWABLE_IMPRESSIONS" (maximize the number of viewable impressions) for biddingStrategyType after the scheduled date.
  • Notes
    • You can't select the bidding option "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" (beta version) with the Display Ads API, so even if you create a campaign with selectable conditions, the existing "Cost per click (CPC)" is applied. If you change your bid strategy for a campaign that has "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" (beta) set up in the Campaign Management Tool, the bidding option will change to an existing bidding option, such as "Cost per click (CPC):
      Example:
      For the campaign with a bid strategy of "Maximize conversions (without target value)" and a bidding option of "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" (beta), if you change your bid strategy to "Maximize conversions (with target value)", the bidding option will change to "Cost per click (CPC)."
      *If you change anything other than your bid strategy, the bidding option won't change.
    • The availability of the beta version of the bidding option "Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)" in the Display Ads API has not been determined. Wait for further announcements with details.
    • Other releases are not affected because the Display Ads API is not applicable.
