Summary

As part of the Yahoo! JAPAN Ads and LINE Ads efforts, we will support "Gain Friends Ads" in Display Ads (Auction) and add or change related features.

About Gain Friends Ads

Advertisements for the purpose of gaining friends of the LINE Official Account (Gain Friends Ads) that are in high demand on LINE Ads are available for ad delivery using the Display Ads data.

■Availability
Gain Friends Ads are only offered to accounts whose advertiser information is in Japan and whose contracting party is the "Advertiser."

  • For accounts with an "agency" contract, the Master Terms and Conditions, which was revised on October 1, 2024, must be agreed upon before use. For account that signed up online, there is no action needed to start using. Learn more about procedures for succession of ad accounts.
  • We plan to offer to accounts with advertiser information overseas, but details are undecided.

■Add items related to Gain Friends Ads
We added items to campaign goals, bid strategy, and audience list type. Details are as follows:

  • Campaign goals
    • Gain friends
  • Bid strategy
    • Maximize gaining friends (with target value)  
    • Maximize gaining friends (without target value)  
    • Individual CPF  
  • Audience list type
    • Friends of LINE Official Account
    • Friends who blocked LINE Official Account

■Notes

  • It can take up to three days for the LINE Official Account's gain friends audience lists to be connected to your data after it's created. If you have already created a list of "Friends of LINE Official Account" before the data connection, you can create a campaign with "Gain friends" goals.
  • If the linkage between the LINE Official Account and the Display Ads account pause, campaigns with "Gain friends" goal will stop. In addition, the data connection of the LINE Official Account's gain friends audience list will also stop.
  • Campaigns that have stopped due to a linkage pause from the LINE Official Account or audience lists that have paused from data connection cannot be used again. You must reconnect with your LINE Official Account and create new campaigns and audience lists to restart using.
  • As of the implementation date, the only ad type delivered by Gain Friends Ads is responsive (image). You can add responsive (video) but won't be delivered. It will be available for ad delivery soon.
  • At the time of the release, Gain Friends Ads will be delivered to LINE News places only. We plan to expand ad places in the future.
  • To create a  LINE Official Account's gain friends audience list you must comply with the Yahoo Japan Advertising Data Usage Standards. Download document for more information. The English will be ready shortly.

■Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Display Ads API
The features described in this announcement in the Display Advertising API is planned to be available in v15. For more information about v15, see Understanding the API v15 System Release.

Other changes

For the following audience list types, small user sizes (less than 1000) can also be set to the  exclusions audience list.
You cannot select them as a target of delivery.

  • Ad Action Users

The audience list for "Friends of LINE Official Account" and "Friends who blocked LINE Official Account" that was added this time can be set to exclude even if the user size is small (less than 1000), and not to be used for delivery.
