Summary

We improved the Display Ads' specification of the calculation method for the updated campaign budget. When you update the budget during the day, the available budget will be based on the remaining time of the day.

■Previous specification:
The budget available for delivery was calculated based on the amount of the "daily budget" after the change, taking into account the remaining time of the day.
The cost of that day is not taken into account.

■New specification:
The amount available is the updated "daily budget" minus the cost incurred for the day.
The cost of that day is taken into account.

[Benefits of the new specification]

  • The ad delivery will be controlled so that the total cost for the day stays within the changed amount.
  • The new specification is simpler than the previous specifications, and you can expect to reduce complications when running ads.

Example calculation when you change the daily budget

When the "daily budget" is changed from 10,000 JPY to 20,000 JPY around noon on a certain day (the cost at noon was 5,000 JPY)

  • Previous specification
    Because the remaining time of the day is 12 hours, half of the 24-hour a day, the delivery amount is controlled so that 10,000 JPY (half of the changed budget) is used in the remaining time.
  • New specification
    The ad delivery volume is controlled to use 15,000 JPY, the amount after the cost of 5,000 JPY is subtracted from the initial amount of 20,000 JPY, in the remaining hours of the day.

Note

If the "daily budget" is changed to an amount less than the costs already incurred, ad delivery will pause gradually after the budget change.
