Search Ads API Extended Text Ads enhancement

August 20, 2020 : This enhancement has released as planned.

Dear customer,

Thank you for using Yahoo! JAPAN Ads.

We will release the feature change of Extended text ads as previously announced in "Yahoo! JAPAN Ads API official version release (Document Number : APIE-FY20-2096)" etc, on the following scheduled date. Some objects of Search Ads API will change at the same time. Please see below for details.

4. Changes on Extended text ads:

"Title3" and "Description2" will become available on Extended text ads.

■Changes on Extended text ads:

With the enhancement, the maximum length of title and description will change as follows.
　・Title1 to 3 : 30 characters each
　・Description1, 2 : 90 characters each
* For Description, the number of characters will change from 80 to 90 characters.
* For Title/Description, full-width and half-width Katakana will be counted as 2 chars, and half-width alphanumeric as 1 char.

■Precautions

• Title1, 2 and description1 will fully show on ad delivery, however title3 and description2 may not be displayed in some cases since these are optional.
• Titles 2 and 3 may be abbreviated as "..." due to various factors such as user's screen width and user search status.

5. Changes on AdGroupAdService:

Contents entered on the following fields of AdGroupAdService will become valid due to this change.
・Fields affected:
　-headline3 (Title3)
　-description2 (Description2)
Headline and description are compatible so you can still use them when creating ads.

6. New items on ReportDefinitionService and CampaignExportService:

The following new items will be added on ReportDefinitionService and CampaignExportService for Extended text ads feature.
・DESCRIPTION1 (Description1)

On ReportDefinitionService and CampaignExportService, Title/Title1 and Description/Description1 items will coexist for a while.
The coexistence period will end on the release of the next API version (will be in October - November).

The values ​​output during the coexistence period are as follows.

・ReportDefinitionService

Added DESCRIPTION1.
From now on, please use TITLE1 and DESCRIPTION1 for all ad types.
It can be acquired by TITLE, DESC, DESCRIPTION during the coexistence period, but it will be deleted after the coexistence period ends.

・CampaignExportService

Added DESCRIPTION1 (Description1) From now on, please use HEALINE_1 and DESCRIPTION1 for all ad types.
You can also get it by HEADLINE, DESCRIPTION_ETA , DESCRIPTION during the coexistence period, but it will be deleted after the coexistence period ends.

7. About AuditLogService:

On the operation history that can be acquired by AuditLogService, Title1 and Description1 are changed to "TITLE_1" and "DESCRIPTION1".
